Summer of Service

Why do we do SOS? Knowing God

To further an intimate relationship with Father God. Opportunities can be provided through guest speakers, quiet times, worship, counseling and outreach. Get a hold of God's heart for you and the world.

Discipleship

You will be challenged to raise new standards in your life this summer. For example, in relationships, quiet times, integrity, accountability, faithfulness, character and much more. To see faithfulness, endurance, and commitment being foundations of your faith rather than emotions, experiences and pleasures.

Servant Leadership

To gain a right understanding and perspective on what leadership really is. We believe leaders are born and skills are taught, some leaders lead by visibility, by communication, some leaders work best under other leaders, leaders who influence but are not in charge, organizers, leaders who are self starters and ones who need support etc. We hope that through the various stages of the summer that you will understand the different roles of leadership and see how you fit. We see leadership as not having power over people, but service to them, thus the greater leadership responsibility, the greater giving up self to further develop and encourage people.

To gain a greater understanding of God's heart for the world

and what our responsibility is, in fulfilling the Great Commission - starting at home, church, community and uttermost parts! Lets get excited about what we can do!

Extreme Encounter

This wilderness challenge program is an action filled, 3 day backpacking adventure. Teenagers learn to work together in teams as they recognize each other’s strengths and support each other’s weaknesses. Initiative games challenge teams and promote trust, teamwork, communication and cooperation. Each participant is encouraged to think for himself, for his team and for the whole community. Facing uncertain weather, eating unusual food and living close to nature provide a setting which encourages personal growth and develops coping skills which are needed on the mission field.
